Portrait of Mistress Ayn

ms_ayn

This commission was originally conceived as a watercolour in the “classic” monochrome look but the subject suggested a bluish tone as if the scene is lit by moonlight.

It is evening.
Mistress Ayn from Atlanta, Georgia looks out at us, wearing a glamorous tight-fitting dress, as she leads her slave upstairs in an old mansion.
The light of the moon floods into the vestibule below.
The night’s pleasures await.

Thankfully She conceded this to me and now this work worships Her in renewed vigour. Sardax has beautifully captured Mistress’ winning and knowing smile in a startling way, at once innocent yet dark in its depths. By converting my vague idea on Her gothic passion into a work of such beauty, you can almost overlook the terror awaiting the bound body as the eye moves across the scene to the wilderness beyond the window …”
